Man's Best Friend

I chose this piece from the day that we wrote poems about subjects in our lives. I decided to write mine about my dog because he is a very important part of my life. It came from the heart, and allowed me to express my love for him. 

Rescued from the pound,

Cooper brought light into my family.

A dark colored cocker,

With ears as ombre and diverse as a sunset.

Blind from all the abuse he was put through,

He is both shy and confused when meeting new people.

Cooper sees me as his savior,

A new chance for him to live happily for once.

He is one of the laziest dogs I've ever met.

He sleeps all day and night.

I am his support for when he has nightmares,

I will protect him until the end.
